Born in Seoul, Jung began her photography and printing studies at age 14. She attended Parsons School of Design in New York City where she began photographing her musician and artist friends. From early 2000, while working day jobs in photo editorial for magazines like Teen Vogue and Vogue, Jung spent most evenings in her neighborhood music venues on the Lower East Side where she befriended and worked with bands like The Capitol Years and The War on Drugs. She continues to work with artists and musicians often collaborating with them on the road. Her most notable collaboration is her five-plus years documenting singer-songwriter and artist Daniel Johnston with whom she published a photography book in 2013.

Jung currently resides and works in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
